It would be very useful if the exported file contained more field such as at least 3 types of labor and at least 4 or 5 field of accessories. Our catalog contain almos 10K sku's and when you have the same modification to make to a couple hundred sku's at once, it get's real tiring to do it in the interface. We don't use category or sub-category labor and accessories rule because in a lot of cases the create more problem thant solutions so this could become a better solution. Also, if we could choose our separator for the CSV such as ; instead of , - We find that for some products, the comas in the long description interfere with the CSV conversion in excel.
Hi @Guest thanks for the detailed write-up; there are a few separate things here, so let me respond to each. Commas in descriptions: the export already wraps every value in quotes, so commas inside descriptions shouldn't break columns — if Excel is splitting them wrong, it's usually the regional import settings (try Data → From Text/CSV rather than double-clicking the file). If you have a file that misbehaves, we'd love a sample because that would be a bug we'd fix. Choice of separator (;): good suggestion — we're designing an export options screen and a delimiter choice is a natural fit there. Multiple labor types and accessories in the export/import: this is the big one — today only a single labor-hours number round-trips, and accessories don't export at all. That's a substantial change we're tracking; knowing which specific fields you'd edit in bulk (labor types? accessory part numbers and quantities?) would help us scope it.
