We would like the ability to just scan a location and it will list what is inside the bin. For example, when we pull from the pick list, we transfer the items into a bin that goes on the job site with the techs. We want the techs to be able to scan the bin to make sure everything has been added that they will need for the job. Or another case, when we scan a bin that has an inventory item, we want it to list what, and the amount that is inside the bin. Currently we can only scan an item to determine how much there is....we want to scan the bin. Similarly, once we've scanned the bin or the item, we want to be able to scan the location that we want to put it into. For example when we are pulling items for a project, we want to scan the bin where it is located, choose the number or amount to move, and scan the new location that it is going into (the bin that is holding all the supplies for an install that will go with the techs to the site). Currently we have to tab through all the sub locations to get to an item. See attached
@Guest Thanks for the detailed write-up and for walking us through this on office hours. You're right that pool-tracked stock is hard to find today when you have a lot of nested warehouse locations: you have to open each product and expand location after location to see what's where.
We've captured a follow-up that lets you pick or scan a location and see everything in it and in the locations under it, pool-tracked items included, with quantities. Scanning a bin, choosing a quantity and scanning the bin it's moving to is a larger change for pool-tracked stock. We're considering it together with similar requests for moving stock in bulk and scanning from mobile.
We'll update this idea as it moves forward.
