When using inventory of bulk wire, it should be per spool and each spool may change in quantity(length remaining) after different projects/jobs. Currently, there is no way to update individual spools unless each one is its own "bin" and that becomes difficult to track. When planning/quoting a project the designer needs to be able to see how many runs of wire he can make from the spools on hand and what needs to be ordered in addition.

We're working on quoting bulk wire from its cable runs and ordering it by the spool. Tracking each spool's remaining length in inventory is the next piece, and your input helps:
1. Do you need to know which spool each job's wire came from, or is total feet on hand per product enough?
2. How do you know what's left on a spool today: by what each job used, or by measuring or weighing the spool?
