Problem
Financial reporting in the platform stops at the pipeline view (open opportunities, what's been closed). There is no high-level financial roll-up tab that shows the actual money picture across projects: cash in vs. cash out for a period, accounts payable and receivable aging, and where the project spend is going (labor vs. project management vs. COGS vs. miscellaneous).
The data already lives in the platform — invoices, payments, time entries, costs all connect to projects — but there's no surface that rolls them up the way a small-business owner or controller wants to see them weekly or monthly.
Required capability
- A Financial Reports tab in the platform with a curated set of high-level views.
- Money in / money out for a configurable period.
- A/P and A/R aging snapshots (current, 30, 60, 90+).
- Project-cost breakdown by category — labor, project management, COGS, miscellaneous.
- Per-project drill-down so the owner can see which projects are pulling the picture in which direction.
- Date-range and salesperson / project-type filters so the view is usable for management reviews and for project post-mortems.
Why it matters
The deeper financials live in QuickBooks / Xero / similar — the platform doesn't need to replace those. But the project manager and owner shouldn't have to leave the platform to answer "how are we doing this month?" The data is here; it just needs a curated view on top.
This pairs naturally with the in-flight accounting integration rebuild — once the integration carries paid / unpaid status back from accounting cleanly, the roll-up becomes a real-time picture rather than a stale one.
