In the Connection View, a single cable line item (for example, a 1000ft Cat6 spool) can only be assigned to one connection. On real projects a single spool typically feeds many connections (e.g., one Cat6 spool runs to 7 different terminations). Today the workaround is creating a separate cable item per connection, which fights the natural way the bill of material is built.
Assign a single cable / spool item to multiple connections in the Connection View.
Specify a per-connection length (e.g., 80ft on connection A, 200ft on connection B, 300ft on connection C).
Roll up the per-connection lengths against the spool quantity to flag over-allocation.
Reflect the allocation in the bill of material so the spool quantity is reconciled against actual consumption.
Cable spools are the canonical example of a "one item, many uses" line on a commercial AV / security bill of material. Without a many-to-one allocation between cables and connections, the Connection View can't represent the project the way it actually gets built, and the cable quantity on the BoM stops matching field reality.

In real-world commercial AV, security, networking, and structured cabling projects, cable materials are typically purchased and managed as bulk spools or reels rather than as individual cable runs.
For example:
1 × 1000ft Cat6 spool
1 × 500ft speaker cable reel
1 × 1000ft fiber spool
These materials are then distributed across many individual connections throughout the project.
However, the current Connection View model only allows:
“one cable item per connection.”
This creates a disconnect between:

As a result, users are forced into inefficient workarounds such as:
