Description:
Currently, users are unable to directly copy and share the URL of a specific page or view within the D-Tools Cloud platform. When a user tries to share a link (for example, to a specific project, proposal, or quote), the copied URL does not allow the recipient to navigate to that same page upon logging in. Instead, they are redirected to the main dashboard or another default landing page.
Proposed Functionality:
Please implement unique, persistent URLs for each major page and record type — such as Projects, Proposals, Tasks, Revisions, and Opportunities. This would allow users to copy the URL directly from the browser’s address bar (or use a “Share Link” button) and paste it into other applications like Slack, task managers, ticketing systems, or emails.
Example workflow:
1. A user opens a project in D-Tools Cloud.
2. The browser’s address bar shows a unique, shareable link such as:https://cloud.d-tools.com/projects/12345/details
3. The user copies and shares that link with a colleague.
4. When the colleague clicks the link (and is authenticated in D-Tools Cloud), they’re taken directly to that specific project page—no extra navigation required.
Use Case & Business Impact:
In collaborative environments, users frequently need to cross-reference D-Tools Cloud pages in other workflows—such as Slack discussions, support tickets (e.g., Asana, Jira, Zoho), and internal notes. Without direct linking, we’re forced to describe where to find something (“Go to Project X, then open Quote Y...“), which is inefficient and prone to errors.
This feature would:
Improve collaboration and speed, making it easy to bring team members directly to relevant content.
Ensure context continuity, reducing time spent navigating or confirming which project version is being discussed.
Align with common SaaS UX standards, as most modern web-based platforms (e.g., HubSpot, Notion, ClickUp, Google Drive) allow direct linking to specific records or screens.
Summary:
Adding shareable deep links to pages within D-Tools Cloud would significantly enhance usability for teams working across multiple systems. It’s a small architectural improvement that would have a major impact on daily efficiency, especially for integrators, PMs, and design teams using D-Tools as part of a broader project workflow.
Copying the URL bar wouldn't be the right approach since Cloud doesn't use separate URLs, navigating between each "page", but I imagine a share button could definitely create a special URL that could allow others to jump into a particular "page".
