In our quoting software (I wrote it), we enter available rack space in a field, and as we enter products into the quote, if the number of RU's are exceeded we get a warning, and if we don't fill it up, the program adds blank panels and adds the cost into the quote. We set a tolerance so that racks don't use more than 75% of available space without an override command.
