When cutting a purchase order, show each line's budgeted project cost next to its PO cost, and flag a purchase price variance before the PO goes out.
Today the only variance check compares the PO price to the supplier's latest price. It does not compare against what the project budgeted. Vote and comment if you want to catch cost overruns at the moment of ordering.
