Show each device's actual port names and types on schematics, such as HDMI In 1, Dante Primary or LAN, instead of generic Port 1 and Port 2, and align each connection point with its port label.
Wanted: better port data from manufacturers, a fast way to name ports on a product, and port label or terminal shown by default. Vote and comment if generic port names slow your installers down.
