Allow Inactive parts to still be allocated and tracked in inventory

We have parts in our warehouse that we no longer want to sell, but we still need to keep them as inventory items so we can track and manage the remaining quantities.

Currently, if a part is marked as Inactive, the system does not allow us to allocate it. However, the system does allow us to allocate a Discontinued part, and we do not necessarily want to mark these items as discontinued.

Would it be possible to allow Inactive parts to still be allocated? Alternatively, could there be another option, such as “Do Not Sell,” that would allow us to:

• Keep the part in our inventory

• Track the quantity on hand

• Allocate the part when needed

• Prevent the part from being available for new sales

• maybe even allow us to order for service tickets only?

This would allow us to properly manage inventory that we have on hand but no longer want to sell to a new client/customer.
